Day 6

A very long and slow train ride from Belgrad to Sofia. The two cities are about 450 km apart, but it takes about 10 hrs by train. On top of this, the train was delayed by two hours. There were numerous tickets controls and passport checks. There was no wifi or at least an electrical plug to recharge batteries.
The stops at the stations were too short to get off and buy some water. The good thing I had a pleasant fellow passenger – a recent law school graduate from England. He was even more anxious than I. Misery likes company. So we shared stories and snacks.
My apartment should be within walking distance from the station, but considering the late night arrival – I took a cab. Now drinking beer, saved from Dublin, and writing this post, waiting for the water in the kettle to boil to have my “good night” tea.
